HeadFirst is an exciting alternative rock band currently based in Boston, MA.
They make high energy grunge and pop punk music for this disenfranchised, mentally ill generation. The band consists of bassist/vocalist Siraj Husainy, guitarist/vocalist Coby Conrad, and drummer Bima Wirayudha. Their unique blend of thick riffing, catchy vocal hooks, and youthful energy is matched by their electric live performances.
HeadFirst was formed by Husainy and former vocalist Andru Wilson in August of 2020 in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, while the members studied at Berklee College of Music. Operating as a 5-piece band featuring Husainy, Conrad, Wirayudha, Wilson, and second guitarist Shawn Gaskill, they got their foot in the door playing shows around Boston, New York, and Pennsylvania, as well as recording and releasing their debut album I Believe in October of 2022. In April of 2023, the band parted ways with Wilson and Gaskill and began operating as a 3-piece band. This change sparked a creative shift which resulted in new material that is rawer, heavier and more authentic than their previous sound, firing on all cylinders and tighter than ever having gained years of practice and experience playing on the road. The band is currently recording their second album, under the working title Modern Role Models.
